Our Torres del Paine W Trek based in Puerto Natales offers our clients a comfortable, self-guided, private way to trek the famous trail, see key sights in Torres del Paine and return back to your own, private hotel room each night. No need to share a dorm room with strangers, or sleep in a tent. You will be able to trek each of the three iconic valleys and see the Torres Base, the French Valley and get to Grey sector. Four nights’ accommodation in Puerto Natales and Three days trekking.

It should be noted that Puerto Natales is only one hour from the southern Torres del Paine Park entrance – less time than it takes to cross from one side of Torres del Paine to the other. This itinerary below will include private transport to and back from the trail heads each day, catamaran tickets, park entry tickets, the Navigation Grey and sightseeing. Breakfast and box lunches also included for each day.

Introduction to Torres del Paine W Trek Based in Puerto Natales

Experience Chile is delighted to launch our special Torres del Paine W Trek based in Puerto Natales. Why are we offering this option? There are a number of reasons.

1 – It is becoming increasingly more difficult to secure accommodations on the actual W Trek trail. In order to do so takes time and can end up being a mix of refugios as well as camping.

2 – Many people do not want to share a dorm room in a refugio, with total strangers, on the trekking trail.

3 – Also, a lot of people do not wish to sleep in a tent.

4 – Hotel accommodation in Torres del Paine can be considered quite high in cost – Puerto Natales is less costly.

Therefore, we feel that by offering private accommodation in one place and then take you to the trail head each day with your own driver and vehicle is a nicer way to go. In addition, our driver can stop off at places on the way or on the way back where you can take pictures. Also, we have included the Navigation Grey boat trip at the end to take you from Refugio Grey to Hotel Grey, from where we will collect you and bring you back to Puerto Natales.

Will I Get to Trek the Three Valleys?

You will be able to trek up to see the Torres Base, the French Valley and get to where Refugio Grey is. However, if you want to add to the itinerary below, such as kayak or and ice hike at Grey, we can do this as long as we can secure space at Refugio Grey for you.

What is Puerto Natales Like?

Please click through to our dedicated page about Puerto Natales for more information. But, in short, Puerto Natales is the main base for all services closest to Torres del Paine. The driving distance from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine is only 1hr to the southern Serrano entrance, which is half the time it takes to drive from the west of the park to the east of the park. Moreover, Puerto Natales offers “village life” with vibrant restaurants, shops and a beautiful, picturesque landscape.

ITINERARY

Arrive to Puerto Natales

Private Transfer to your Hotel in Puerto Natales.
Night – Puerto Natales.

Start of W Trek Torres Base

Breakfast
Private Transfer to the Torres del Paine Welcome Centre.
Trek 4.5hrs up to the Torres Base and 4.5hrs back down to the Welcome Centre.
Private Transfer back to your hotel in Puerto Natales.
Night – Puerto Natales.

French Valley

Breakfast.
Private Transfer to Pudeto in Torres del Paine.
Take the catamaran across to Paine Grande.
Hike 2.5hrs to Camp Italiano, then 2.5hrs to the end of the French Valley (or halfway).
Return to Paine Grande (5hrs).
Take catamaran across to Pudeto.
Private Transfer back to your hotel in Puerto Natales.
Night – Puerto Natales.

To Glacier Grey

Breakfast.
Private Transfer to Pudeto in Torres del Paine.
Take the catamaran across to Paine Grande.
Hike 4hrs to Refugio Grey (option to go past and on to the glacier viewpoint or hanging bridge)
Take Navigation Grey across Grey Lake, in front of the glacier and to Hotel Grey.
Private Transfer back to your hotel in Puerto Natales.
Night – Puerto Natales.

TERMS

Accommodation in Puerto Natales will be in one of our partner hotels (some of these our shown above with photos). Some hotels offer a better-quality room than others. Also, a hotel may have only their standard rooms available and not their superior rooms. It should be noted, however, that our objective will be to secure the higher-level room quality as a first choice. That being said, if these options are not available for the dates you need, at the time of our room request, we will need to secure alternative accommodation options where available.

There will be no change in the cost if you end up with a superior quality room or a lower-level room.

The rates below are based upon TWO people sharing a room. However, if other couple join your party, for example, you have 2 more friends with you, the rate below will be less, per person, because the cost for the private transfer will be divided between four and not two people. Less again if another couple join, so, if you become a group of 6, for example. However, higher than a group of six then we are obliged to include a guide and that will need to be calculated into the final equation.

Puerto Natales-Based Itinerary

We have been arranging the W trek in Torres del Paine for over thirty years. Back then, when we began, it was not too difficult to secure accommodation in refugios, or camping along the trail. However, for a number of years now, the desire to hike the W Trek has soared in popularity, and so too has the demand for accommodation.
