Skorpios Kaweskar Route

From Puerto Natales back to Puerto Natales

4 Nights / 5 Days

The Skorpios Kaweskar Route is a short cruise penetrating into the fiords and channels in the heart of Chilean Patagonia, exploring the maritime area immediately west and north-west of Torres del Paine National Park. The boutique-sized ship, with a maximum passenger capacity for only 90 people, will navigate into a number of fiords where vast rivers of ice come down from the Andean southern ice shelf and into the tranquil waters of the Pacific. For those seeking a different perspective of Patagonia, this is an ideal add-on to your Torres del Paine adventure specifically because it starts and ends at Puerto Natales – the nearest village to Torres del Paine.

The cruise includes around 15 glaciers, some of which we will contemplate and admire directly, walking up to their front and moraines, and sailing through multi-colored icefloes on smaller expedition vessels like the Capitán Konstantino; from where we will have the chance to observe de varied Patagonian flora and fauna in all its natural glory.

What ExperienceChile.Org says about

Skorpios Kaweskar Route

It should be noted that the Skorpios cruise company is the pioneer of Patagonian cruises in Chile. Their two ships, Skorpios II and III dominate the boutique cruise options in the western Patagonian archipelago of Chile as well as the channels and fiords from Puerto Natales, near Torres del Paine.

The Kaweskar route, that operates out from and back to Puerto Natales is primarily a cruise into the heart of the Patagonian ice fields where glaciers come down from the virgin, snow covered southern Andes and into the calm, archipelago waters of the Pacific. There will be a lot of ice and dramatically impressive natural Patagonian scenery to see, and get close to, on this cruise. If this sounds like you, and you wish to add this as a pre or post Torres del Paine visit then we say do it!

Note that we have been creating Torres del Paine W Trek itineraries and other Patagonian itineraries since 1996. We are based in Chile, English owned, and a leading receptive travel operator, covering in particular – Patagonia.
