Based Out of a Top Torres del Paine Lodge

Introduction

Opening in November 2026 is a brand new, high-end lodge (not luxury level, but good). This new place is called AURALTA, located on the shores of Lake Sarmiento, will have 40 private guest rooms, on two floors. The actual position of the lodge is near an estancia called Lazo, and not too far from the top-end luxury lodge of Tierra Patagonia.

From information received by us to date, this new project looks to offer really good, private rooms with en-suite bathrooms. At last, hikers who want to experience the W Trek will be able to enjo a private accommodation experience each night and not have to share a dorm room with strangers, nor a tent. Guests will be able to enjoy the comfort of their own, en-suite bathroom and not have to endure be uncomfortable in front of others in a communal shower room.

Although the reservation will include breakfast, box lunches and dinners will also be available if ordered at the lodge.

Your W Trek Self Guided Itinerary from Auralta Lodge

The itinerary below starts on the basis that you have had your first night in the lodge. However, you will need to consider the previous day getting to the lodge (transfer included) and if you have an arrival night in Puerto Natales or not.

Adjust accordingly to the number of nights you will have booked with Experience Chile for this program.

1 Day – After breakfast you will be collected at 08:00hrs AM and take to the Torres del Paine Welcome Centre.

• Hike up to CHILENO 6.1km / 3.8m – 2.5hr hike.
• Go on to Torres Base 4.8km / 3m – 2hr hike.
• Back to CHILENO 4.8km / 3m – 2hr hike. Night at Chileno (or at Central, which requires another 2hrs back down from Chileno). 
• At 18:00hrs you will be collected at the TDP Welcome Centre and taken back to Aurelta Lodge. Dinner (extra cost), and night at the lodge.

2 Day – After breakfast, you will be collected at 08:00hrs AM and taken to PUDETO. Here, you will board te catamaran to cross over to PAINE GRANDE. From here you will be able to hike to the French Valley and back.

• From Paine Grande to the French Valley Entrance: 7.8km / 4.8m – 2hrs 40mins hike.
• From French Valley Entrance to the FV Viewpoint: 2.6km / 1.6m – 1hr 30min hike.
• From French Valley Viewpoint to the end (Camp Britanico): 3.2km / 2m – 1hr hike.
• Total distance from French Valley Entrance to the end and back is: 11.6km / 7.25m – 5hr hike.
• From French Valley exit to Paine Grande: 7.8km / 4.8m – 2hrs 40mins hike.
• Therefore TOTAL hike time to French Valley View Point and back is 9hrs.

You will catch the catamaran at Paine Grande to be tken across Pehoe Lake to PUDETO. Here, your private transfer will be waiting to take you back to Aurelta lodge for dinner (extra cost), and night at the lodge.

3 Day – After breakfast, you will be collected at 08:00hrs AM and taken to PUDETO. Here, you will board te catamaran to cross over to PAINE GRANDE. From here you will be able to hike to GREY. Upon arrival to Refugio Paine Grande you will be able to hike up past the refugio to the GREY Viewpoint where you will get (on a clear day) splendid view over Grey Lake and Glacier. However, you will continue hiking on to where Refugio Grey is. Total distance from Paine Grande to Grey is 11km / 6.8m – 4hrs hike. You may opt to take unch at the Grey Refugio (extra cost), and at 13:30hrs PM check-in for the NAVIGATION GREY acros Grey Lake to Grey Beach. Once you have desbarked it will be a slow walk along Grey beach for about 1km to a wooded area, where you cross a hanging pedestran bridge and arrive to a restaurant and car park. At this car park, called Pingo, your private transfer will be waiting to take you back to Aurelta lodge for dinner (extra cost), and night at the lodge.

4 Day – After breakfast, you will be collected at 10:00hrs am for a private transfer to Puerto Natales village or airport.
