Estancia Cerro Guido is an authentic Patagonian Estancia offering stupendous views over the “never-ending” Patagonian Steppe. If you ever wanted to really experience Patagonia and, at the same time, enjoy Torres del Paine National Park, then this is the place.

What makes Estancia Cerro Guido so special is that it is historic. The actual Estancia is not just one building, it is a village. Moreover, the buildings were built in England, shipped to South America and then assembled here in Patagonia. There is a school, plus a number of houses for the staff, and the shearing shed where thousands of sheep have their fleeces shaved off.

Accommodation at Estancia Cerro Guido

Accommodation

The part where guests stay comprises two units, decorated and furnished in the elegant English style of the period, including some antiques. There is a main reception house and here there is a living room and guest rooms. However, further up the hill, about 100m away, is another, independent unit where there are large “farm house” rooms, a dining room and lounge.

All the guest rooms are spacious, well furnished and decorated and have modern, en-suite bathrooms. However, the rooms in the older, independent building are very spacious, along with very big bathrooms.

Room 2 in the main reception unit has a view to the TDP Central Massiff.

About Torres del Paine Estancia Cerro Guido

Cerro Guido is an authentic working estancia in the heart of Patagonia with easy access into Torres del Paine. While guests maybe enjoying the fine accommodation and hospitality in the “hotel” sector of the Estancia, in other parts life continues as normal. Above all, sheep are corralled into the shearing shed, cattle are rounded up, horses are left to roam. If guests are very fortunate, it is sometimes possible to witness the sheep shearing and see the real Patagonia in action.

Restaurant

The Estancia has built a fine annex where there is a large barbecue , called in these parts an “asado”, housed in the “quincho”. Here there is a restaurant with windows aligning two full sides that allow for an uninterrupted view out to the Patagonian landscape and on a clear day the Torres of Torres del Paine in the distance.

Frankly, if you come to Patagonia this is one of the best places to experience the “real deal” and here at ExperiencdeChile.Org we will be delighted to prepare an itinerary that includes trips into Torres del Paine as well as the W Trek, if so desired.
