The ethos of the Torres del Paine Hotel ECO Camp Luxury Dome Lodge is a focus on minimizing as much as possible the carbon footprint of each guest who stays here.  For example, the waste from the WC is channeled into a chamber to be converted into peat, and no loo paper is allowed into the WC so one has to use a plastic bin for paper disposal. They recycle as much as the can. There are also solar panels for electricity generation.

We offer all-inclusive itineraries based at ECO camp that include the full W Trek as well as other sights in Torres del Paine.

Why Choose ECO Camp?

The Torres del Paine Hotel ECO Camp Luxury Dome Lodge serves three objectives. One, is if you are the type of person who enjoys camping, but at an “upper level”, and likes to mix with the other travelers in a relaxed, informal ambience, then you should like ECO Camp. However, this option also serves those who are specific about reducing their carbon footprint when travelling, because ECO camp does its utmost to reduce pollution and contamination. Lastly, but by no means least, the ECO camp is ideally located for the trail head that leads up to the Torres del Paine iconic Torres Base and where you can stay in a private “room” with an en-suite bathroom (only in the superior and suite domes).

In the event that you want to hike the W Trek and come back to your own room each night (bar one night, which is on the trail) then ECO Camp also offers that option.

ECO Camp also offers all-inclusive itinerary programs whereby daily transport is provided to take you to the sights and / or trekking trails of Torres del Paine accompanied by educated guides. All meals also included.

ECO Camp Accommodation Types

The suite domes are the largest with lots of interior space including king-sized double bed, log-burning stove, plastic view window, en-suite shower and WC room. Decorated inside like a Bedouin tent with drapes and indigenous fabrics. There is an outside deck area for sitting down and from where you can view the Torres and general stunning scenery.

The Superior domes (4) are like the Suite domes but smaller and with a small wall heater.

The standard domes (8) are smaller than the superior domes with no heat and no en-suite facilties, but with use of a centrally located communal shower and WC facilities.

In the middle of the camp are the “core” domes, which are large rooms containing a shop, restaurant and lounge. Adjoined to this is a bar (not under a dome, but conventional wooden roof) and an outdoor deck area for relaxation when the sun shines. All domes are connected together by boardwalks. ECO Camp is very much “high-end” camping and a new experience for most, albeit sometimes with the wind rattling in and around the domes. A relaxed atmosphere and laid back staff.

This is a good place for groups.

Home Cooking Style

As can be seen in the picture below, the ECO camp offers a simple set up for food served. Breakfast is a buffet, and dinner is cooked in the style of “home cooked” meals.
