Introduction to Torres del Paine W Trek 6 Nights Traditional Itinerary

With this W Trek itinerary, you will get two nights at Chileno, or one night at Chileno and then one night at central, or two nights at Central – depending on availability. Then you will get one night at Cuernos or Frances, one night at Paine Grande, with a final night at Grey.

In addition, this itinerary will include two nights in Puerto Natales and 6 nights’ accommodation on the actual trail. You will be able to hike the Torres Base, the French Valley get to be near the Glacier Grey.

Transfer to Hotel in Natales.

Transfer to Bus Terminal.

Start of the W Trek

Regular Bus to Laguna Amarga Torres del Paine.
Shuttle to Welcome Centre.

Torres Base

1 Night on Trail – at Refugio or Camping Central or Premium Camping Chileno.
Trek to Torres Base and back to Chileno or back down to Central.
2 Night on Trail – at Refugio or Camping Central or Premium Camping Chileno.

On to Cuernos or Frances

Trek to Cuernos or Frances.
3 Night on Trail – at Refugio or Camping Frances or Refugio or Camping Cuernos (or Cabins).

French Valley

Trek into the French Valley and back to Frances or Cuernos.
4 Night on Trail – at Refugio or Camping Frances or Refugio or Camping Cuernos (or Cabins).

On to Paine Grande

Trek to Paine Gande.
5 Night on Trail – Refugio Paine Grande

On to Grey

Trek to Grey.
6 Night on Trail – Refugio or Camping Grey.
*Trek back to Paine Grande (*unless you have requested an alternative ending, see below)
Take catamaran across to Pudeto.

Return to Natales

Regular bus to Puerto Natales.
Transfer to hotel in Puerto Natales.
Night – Puerto Natales.
Transfer out to airport or bus terminal.

*ALTERNATIVE ENDING AFTER GREY (requires additional cost): Options are Kayak or Ice Hike at Grey, then trek back to Paine Grande, or take the Navigation Grey boat across the lake to Hotel Grey. We can arrange any of these as well as a night at Hotel Grey. From Hotel Grey it will be either the regular bus back to Puerto Natales or a more comfortable private transfer that can stop off at scenic spots for photos.

Although you can enjoy hiking the W Trek in 3, 4 or 5 nights, this 6-night option allows you to take your time, rest more and end with a night at Refugio or Camping Grey. In the event that you do take a night at Grey, you will be able to walk up to the hanging bridge, as well as get closer to the glacier, or ice hike on the glacier (requires pre-booking and payment) and / or kayak in front of the glacier (also requires prebooking and payment). In addition, once here you can depart on the navigation that goes to Hotel Grey, crossing over Grey lake. If you get the right one you will also pass in front of the glacier.
